Automated Sitemap Generation

A sitemap file can help search engine crawlers to find all pages on your site. Therefore Automad tries to place a sitemap file in the root of your installation automatically every time the cache gets updated. In most cases that is not possible due to missing write permissions and the generation process will fail silently.
You can easily work around that issue by placing an empty file called sitemap.xml in the root directory of your website and change its permissions to 666. The next time Automad updates the cache, also the sitemap will be generated and written correctly.
